Newsela Answers Software Comming To MMC

Newsela is a reading program that teaches students with fun articles. As students read through the articles they can save big words they don't know and then go over them in flashcards. The end of each article also has a quiz that requires 4 Newsela answers to get through. These answers are quite challenging and will require alot of skill from students. But where do the articles come from? Newsela actually has a special algorithm that converts new york times and washington post articles into question answer pairs. This helps students learn from entertaining material that keeps them engaged.

During the meeting a wide variety of subjects are discussed, from association management to community issues, events and programs. The SIRA Committee meetings are open to the public for observation. At the end of the meeting there is a Questions and Answers session, where community members are able to ask the committee questions. Meeting Called to Order:9:52 am Welcome and Announcements Besnilian mentioned meeting held at the Orange Grove Bistro to celebrate the 24th Anniversary of MMC. Besnilian welcomed Kathryn Bernstein, Grants Officer and John Pepitone, Director of Development, Health and Human Development/Dean’s Office as a guest to the Advisory Board Meeting. Held at Iona College for the 60th Anniversary this year. NEW BUSINESS Barbara Faherty’s husband competed in the Boston Marathon. Anyone wishing to gain information at the marathon should see her. Father Michael advised there would be some students interested in this. NEXT MEETING 4 June, 2018 15. MEETING CLOSED 8.13pm. Agenda Minutes. The July Committee meeting was moved to Wednesday and held in the Settlers’ Hall to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the Oratia Ratepayers’ and Residents’ voting to form an incorporated society, at a meeting held in the Settlers’ Hall, July 11th, 1952.
