Actually, it might be. If you google 'force wsus client to check in to wsus server', you'll see almost 300,000 results. And I swear I've read every single one of them and tried every single suggestion. I finally decided to take matters into my own hands. I built a lab environment consisting of a domain controller, a WSUS server and a client. When you set up SUS or WSUS you are prompted to set a specific time to check for and download updates to the server. There may be some instances however where you need to force this process. This often comes up when you first setup your SUS/WSUS server and want to test whether or not a client system can contact and update from your SUS/WSUS server. Download this tool, which has been designed to aid the WSUS administrator in troubleshooting client machines that are failing to report back to the WSUS Server. The tool will conduct preliminary checks and test the communication between the WSUS Server and the client machine. Download free force wsus client check updates. Hi, we have a Wsus server and a GPO that forces all PCs and Servers to work with it. In the GPO, 'configure automatic updates' is configured to 'notify for download and notify for install' and the 'schedule install day' is tuesday.
